After a positive run of talks with families, agents, and close friends, Benjamin Sesko has reportedly chosen Manchester United ahead of Newcastle United.
For all this while there was a clear intent that the player is willing to play for the Red Devils, and the feeling within the board of Manchester United was even stronger last night that the player will definitely say yes to them.
The Slovenian striker wanted to be sure that Manchester United would negotiate and finalize the deal with RB Leipzig after accepting them, as we reported earlier yesterday.
Now the deal is on with no expected twist, as RB Leipzig positioned themselves in a way that they will only negotiate with any team if the player accepts the terms of that particular team.
According to multiple reports, Benjamin Sesko and his agent have reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester United already, and now the greenlight for the Reds to focus on club-to-club terms.
Despite Manchester United’s offer being lower than Newcastle’s 90 million euro offer, RB Leipzig will now have to negotiate a deal with the Red Devils for the Slovenian striker.
Will Benjamin Šeško fit into the Ruben Amorim system?
Rúben Amorim is a coach who plays a 3-4-2-1 formation. This formation is known to work with a prolific striker who is good in aerial duels, as there will be a lot of service from the wide areas.
As he did during his time in Sporting Lisbon, the presence of Victor Gyokeres made sure that all the services from wide areas were gracefully converted.
Now at Manchester United, Rasmus Hojlund is typically short of that. After struggling the past two seasons since joining Manchester United, the coach will need a reliable striker for this system.
The signing of Benjamin Sesko will be of benefit to the Ruben Amorim system, as he is looking forward to changing the situation at the club.
Last season in the German Bundesliga, Sesko scored 13 goals and contributed 5 assists in 33 appearances, which is a good sign for a 22-year-old striker.
He can shoot from a distance, dribble, hold up players, and pass in building an attack. He’s prolific and misses few chances.
With the current goal-scoring situation at United, the signing of Sesko is a sign of improvement in their attack for next season.
With Manchester United finishing 15th last season, there will definitely be a lot of pressure on the Portuguese coach.
The fans and, more importantly, the board will expect more from him after signing two of the biggest performers in the Premier League last season in the shape of Matheus Cunha and Mbuemo.
So the addition of Benjamin Sesko is a plus for the Reds, and he will authoritatively fit into the system without any issues.
A Big Blow for Newcastle United.
The confirmation from Benjamin Sesko is a big blow for the Magpies. After raising the standard so high in their offer, hoping to convince the player and RB Leipzig to join them, it turns out to be of no importance.
The Magpies now have to assess their striker options, with Vlahovic looking forward to leaving Juventus and Ollie Watkins still high on their radar.
With Alexander Isak looking forward to a move away from St. James Park, Newcastle will have no time to waste in search of another striker before the window ends.
Since the start of the window, Isak has been linked with a move to multiple teams, with Liverpool being the only club to show concrete interest in the player.
He returned to training with the Magpies but has already handed in a transfer request after talks with Eddie Howe.
Now the search is on for a new striker, as Newcastle will reportedly cash in on him after finding his replacement.
