After closing in on the Benjamin Sesko deal, multiple reports of Carlos Baleba to Manchester United surfaced online, with the Reds looking forward to signing a midfielder before the window ends.
The 20-year-old Brighton midfielder has emerged as a number one target for Manchester United in this summer transfer window.
David Ornstein reported that Manchester United has already initiated contact with Brighton and Hove Albion over a move for the Cameroonian.
The Reds are willing to submit an offer for the player in the next few days after sealing the Sesko deal. But surprisingly, the Seagulls are not willing to sell this summer; they will only do it if a substantial offer comes in.
The midfielder’s abilities are highly rated by Ruben Amorim as he looks forward to finding a progresser who can link up play between defenders and attackers in his squad.
The deal is said to be difficult, as Brighton is quoting a fee around £90 + £10 million in add-ons.
But according to reports, Manchester United values the player around £70 million.
With the deal being described as difficult, the Reds still believe that if the player can hand in a transfer request, it would change the whole thing.
The player who is on 12.5K pounds a week is also looking for an offer in excess of that, and Manchester United presents him with a glorious opportunity.
There is no official bid as of now, but as United assesses their options and financial situation, a bid is expected soon if that’s sorted.
Despite the deal not being imminent, the player is open to joining the Reds, as he hopes to change the environment for a new experience.
Is Manchester United the only club chasing Baleba?
According to reports from Transfer News Live, Manchester United is not the only club interested in the Cameroonian midfielder.
Rival teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, and even Arsenal have shown interest in the player. He could be one of the hot cakes in the ending days of the transfer window.
The Reds are reportedly ready to hurry up the process of signing the player to avoid competition from rivals.
