Enzo Maresca is wasting no time in building his dream team at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues coach has reportedly shortlisted 15 Chelsea players that he thinks can leave the club without having any bad effect on the team.
The Italian has undoubtedly transformed Chelsea into a formidable side after joining the club in 2024. Last season, Chelsea made progress under Maresca by getting a top 4 spot in the Premier League, which they didn’t do under their previous manager.
Their style of play, mentality, and fighting spirit on the field of play have uniquely transformed the way Maresca wants.
On top of everything they achieved before the end of the season, they went on to win the just-ended FIFA Club World Cup in the USA, proving how far the Chelsea team has come under Enzo Maresca.
This summer transfer window, the Blues have been doing so much, getting in several players to strengthen their squad.
The addition of Gittens, Delap, Joào Pedro, and Hato, Hato, and potentially adding Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United and Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, would mean that Enzo Maresca can now trim the squad to his liking.
Some players, like Sterling, Disasi, Ben Chilwell, and Nkunku, were already made aware that they were not part of his plans.
But according to the Transfer News Live, there has been an addition of some surprising names to the list of players that Maresca wants out of the team before the window ends.
Who is on Maresca’s exit list?
Already some players knew they had no future at the club, but there have been additions lately to the list. The names of the players that Enzo Maresca wants out of Chelsea are:
1. Ben Chilwell – (England)
2. Raheem Sterling – (England)
3. Alfie Gilchrist – (England)
4. Carney Chukwuemeka – (England)
5. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – (England)
6. Christopher Nkunku – (France)
7. Axel Disasi – (France)
8. Benoît Badiashile – (France)
9. Lesley Ugochukwu – (France)
10. Nicolas Jackson – (Senegal)
11. Marc Guiu – (Spain)
12. Renato Veiga – (Portugal)
13. Aaron Anselmino – (Argentina)
14. Armando Broja – (Albania)
15. David Datro Fofana – (Ivory Coast)
What Does This Mean for Chelsea?
The departure of these players would have no impact on the team, as the Blues have made significant signings so far in the transfer window.
Chelsea currently have a squad size of 39, which is more than the required number of players for a Premier League match day (24).
The departure of these players will also help create space for new recruitments, as the Blues are still in the business of adding more quality to their squad.
Chelsea Next Transfer Target.
Currently, the Blues are in talks for both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Chelsea would like to land Xavi Simons before Garnacho.
The club sees Xavi Simons as a player that could complement their midfield options after struggling to put up a consistent midfield trio last season.
In the Club World, the Blues boss converted Reece James from right back to a central midfield role, which he played so well against PSG.
With Roméo Lavia constantly experiencing injuries, the Blues are looking forward to getting in another midfielder, and Simons is their ideal pursuit.
Fabrizio Romano, who is a transfer expert, reported that, right after the signing of Simons, Chelsea will approach Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho.
The player’s situation at United is still uncertain after he was made aware by Ruben Amorim that he’s not part of his plans for next season.
Despite many reports of Garnacho’s attitude towards instructions at Manchester United, Chelsea have reportedly done a thorough background check of the player’s attitude and have given the green light to sign the player.
Manchester United value the Argentine at £40 million, but Chelsea are reportedly willing to pay less than that, with United not willing to accept him back to their squad.
