Real Madrid has released a worrying statement that their striker Kylian Mbappe is hospitalized with an acute case of gastroenteritis ahead of their next game in the Club World Cup.
The Spanish club released this statement on Thursday, but a close source has told TNnews Sports that the player was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. Mbappe is now living in isolation, and now practically considered that, he will not feature in the group stage of the competition for Real Madrid.
The French international missed Madrid’s first game with Al Hilal, which resulted in a 1-1 draw, and will now miss the rest of the group stage matches.
Coach Xabi Alonso, who is playing his first tournament as Real Madrid coach, says he hopes Kylian Mbappe recovers in time, as he may need his services in the rest of the competition.
What this means to Real Madrid.
The exclusion of Kylian Mbappe will have a strong negative effect on Madrid. With the Frenchman up front, the Spanish side is capable of beating any opponent thanks to his pace and brilliance in front of goal.
Last season, Kylian Mbappe contributed immensely both in the Champions League and in La Liga. He scored 38 goals in 48 matches in both competitions and ended the season with the Pichichi (top scorer in La Liga).
Despite Madrid’s fearsome attack of Vinicius, Rodygo, and Bellingham, losing Kylian Mbappe for the rest of the group stage matches could come as a huge blow to the Spanish giant.
Next Match.
After the draw against Al Hilal, the Los Blancos will look forward to winning their next match, which they play against Pachuca in Group H in the FIFA Club World Cup. Salzburg leads the group with 3 points after beating Pachuca 2-1.
As a result, Pachuca has no points coming into the game. Madrid, on the other hand, is having 1 point after their draw with Hilal, so a win in this game will see Madrid topping the group as they await the match results between Al Hilal and Salzburg.
Xabi Alonso will also be looking forward to his first win as a coach for Real Madrid.
