Manchester United in talks for Ollie Watkins, 29, has become the talk of the English media and world football, but the move is far from certain, according to Transfer News Live on X formerly (Twitter).
United are reportedly not ready to meet Aston Villa’s £60m valuation or overpay, citing concerns over Watkins’ age and future resale value.
The Red Devils spotted the opportunity to sign Ollie Watkins after Aston Villa’s desire to let the player leave this summer. The player started a few matches from the bench last season when Marcus Rashford signed for them on loan in January.
Ruben Amorim, who is the current manager for Manchester United, is looking to solve his goal-scoring problems that he encountered last season when he joined Man United in November.
Manchester United has already acquired the signature of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and with the potential inclusion of Bryan Mbuemo, the Red Devils are looking forward to putting up a fearsome 3-front attack for next season.

The Stumbling Block.
The valuation of Ollie Watkins is serving as a stumbling block for Manchester United to sign the player from Aston Villa.
Villa, according to reports, is now requesting a fee of around 60 million euros for the player to leave Villa Park this summer.
But Manchester United, after their financial crisis, can only sign players with the right amount of money, which they believe is right for both parties.
United can only sign more players in this summer transfer window when they make more player sales because of the FFP rules, which restrict them from doing so much in this window.
Currently, United has listed about 5 players for sale, including key players such as Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Andre Onana.
The player is willing to join Manchester United, but Villa also sees this as an opportunity to cash out as they prepare to sign more players to be able to compete next season.
