The Mohammed Kudus to Chelsea transfer saga has resurrected as the Blues reignited their interest in the West Ham United midfielder after having their first attempt failed.
Chelsea has been busy in the transfer window so far. With the completion of top deals like Gittens, Liam Delap, and Estevao, the inclusion of Mohammed Kudus will mean that the Blues are ready for next season.
Kudus has been the center of attraction for weeks since the start of the transfer window, as many top European teams seek to secure his signature. But with many suitors, including rival teams like Tottenham, Chelsea is leading the race to sign the Ghanaian international.
According to many reports, Chelsea would like to include players in the deal to sign Kudus, but the Daily Mail reported that West Ham will only allow Kudus to leave if any team activates his £85m release clause. And for clubs in Saudi, not less than £125m will be required to sign the player.
Last season, the player made 32 appearances, scored 5 goals, and assisted 3 times in what is described to be one of the most abysmal performances by such a promising talent in the Premier League.
With his contract expiring in June 2028, the Hammers have shown no signs of letting the player leave without getting the right amount for him.
Kudus Open to Stamford Bridge Move if Clubs Agree on Terms
Kudus, per multiple reports, is open to a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of Tottenham and other interested teams. The 24-year-old has shown interest in Chelsea’s project and would like to be part of Enzo Maresca’s young and energetic team. His preference comes out of his willingness to be counted among the top Ghanaian performers who have played for Chelsea before, after the likes of Michael Essien, Christian Atsu (the late), and Baba Rahman.
The deal is now left on the decision table for Chelsea, as all indications show that the Ghanaian international would like to play for the Blues next season.
Chelsea has already sent a £50m bid in and quickly saw it rejected by West Ham, as they are looking to get the right amount, which is £80m.
With many news outlets in the UK discussing Mohammed Kudus to Chelsea transfer saga, the Blues will have to be quick in pursuit of the player to avoid shock hijacking from their rivals.
