Saudi Arabia tempts Messi with a €300M offer in a bid that could make the Argentine the best-paid player in the history of football.
With the offer including business opportunities and a key role in the 2034 FIFA World Cup campaign, the deal is one of the most lucrative ever made and submitted to a player.
Still, Messi’s preference to retire at Inter Miami stands as a powerful barrier to the Saudi clubs’ constant approach to bring him to the SPL.
Al-Hilal reportedly tempted Messi with a huge offer when he left PSG and decided to join Miami. However, Messi rejected the offer because he saw life in Miami to be more comfortable, especially for the latter years of his excellent football career.
The Argentine sees the USA as a place where he can retire comfortably after having the opportunity to reunite with his old-time teammates from Barcelona.
Recently Messi led Al-Hilal to the FIFA Club World Cup round of 16, when they met PSG and got knocked out in a 4-0 defeat.
Despite their inability to progress to the next stage of the competition, the board members of Inter Miami are happy about his performance and are willing to continue with him.

With Messi’s desire to play with his old teammates, there were reports that were suggesting that Messi wants to reunite with Neymar Jr.
Neymar, in multiple interviews, expressed his desire to play with Messi again after having a disastrous season at Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
But fast forward, Messi came out to debunk those rumors, as he saw Neymar’s transfer to Inter Miami as an impossible mission due to his wage demands that were reportedly too high for Inter Miami to afford.
Messi sees his time at Inter Miami as an enjoyable moment and is reportedly willing to retire at the club.
Albeit multiple news headlines suggesting that the Argentine international could end up retiring from football in the MLS, the Saudi Pro League Giants also believe that the 300 million euro offer for Messi would be enough to give them a chance to convince the player to sign for them.
The decision is now up to Messi and his entourage, as Inter Miami is also looking forward to continuing with him for 2 more years.
