Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has again raised concerns about United rebuilding, saying, “We are going to suffer this season.”
The Portuguese coach, known for his bold communication style, made it clear in a preseason, pre-match interview that rebuilding at Manchester United will take time and patience.
With preseason performances underwhelming and squad restructuring still in progress in this transfer window, Amorim’s warning is both a reality check and a call for unity.
This is to see through that Manchester United fans lower their expectations ahead of the new season despite two major signings.
Why is Ruben Amorim saying this?
The Portuguese coach is trending for saying his United side will suffer again this season after saying the same thing last season, which truly came to pass.
Amorim has already said that, with the inclusion of Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha, Manchester United is now a much better team than what they were before.
But it appears that the Red Devils are not doing so much in the transfer window to support him as he looks forward to turning things around in his second season as a coach for United.
Man United rivals like Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all actively reshaping their squads for the season ahead, while United has been quiet.
From the coach’s point of view, drawing lines from last season’s performance in the Premier League clearly indicates that United have to do more in this transfer window.
Manchester United occupied the 15th position last season, which is described as the worst season ever in the history of the club.
And with their rivals actively working hard to strengthen their squads, the Reds will have much more difficult competition next season.
What Next for Manchester United?
Manchester United currently have been linked with several players as they look forward to adding more quality to their squad.
It was reported earlier after the signing of Mbuemo that United will not prioritize any area but are in search of a goalkeeper, a striker, and one midfielder to bring to Ruben Amorim’s squad.
With Andre Onana sidelined for months due to injury, and Altay Bayindir, who could leave to have playing time somewhere, the club is now prioritizing the signing of a goalkeeper to replace the Cameroonian.
Senne Lammens, a 23-year-old player who plays between the sticks for Royal Antwerp, has been linked heavily with a move to Old Trafford.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer guru, reported on his YouTube channel that the young goalkeeper is keen on joining Manchester United, as he wants to try a new experience outside the Belgian Pro League.
